There are five banks in Skiathos, all of which are located in Skiathos Town.

POST OFFICE
The post office in Skiathos is located opposite the school at the top of Papadiamantis Street adnd has a yellow sign outside.
The post office is not open at the weekend, however it is open through the week from 07.30 - 14.30. Stamps and postcards can be purchased throughout the island.
WATER
This is a scarce commodity on the island. Please use sparingly. The tap water is fine for cleaning teeth,or boiling a kettle for tea or coffee, but for drinking it is recommended that you buy bottled water.
ELECTRICITY
Mains electricity is supplied at 220 volts. Continental style plugs are used. Two pin plug adapters are available at most mini markets.
NEWSPAPERS
Most of the British national newspapers and other major international papers are now printed in Athens and can normally be purchased on the day of publication, albeit late in the day.
